So, this is a post that I started writing several days ago. And this is the part where I pause to think about the days when I wrote daily making up all sorts of stories in my mind, creating worlds and whatnot. These days I feel good if I manage to lock the door before falling asleep. But, I don’t like to wallow; I like to think about goals! That’ right birthday goals!
Yes, I’m a bit late, as my birthday was a few weeks ago, but my birthday goals have always been about movement, not about perfection.
But before jumping into the new goals, I have been thinking about last year’s goals. This past year, I achieved more of the goals that I set up than ever before since I began doing the birthday goals. Huge swaths of this past year were tough. This makes me proud of what I was able to accomplish. In fact, I don’t have any regrets about reaching some but not others. Even the salad goal…which I was so close to reaching, but couldn’t pull together in the end. 21 of 33. Cool.
This year, some of the goals are the same as those from last year, but they’re also different. I am more interested in creating overall balance than in ticking of particular goals. The goals are meant to help me get there.
Let the games goals begin!
