Strawberry Cookie Milkshake

Fun fact about me. I don’t like milk. I get grossed out when my son just pours that somewhat viscous, film-on-glass-leaving liquid into a drinking vessel and goes at it. Sometimes I have to turn my  head. Sometimes I  have to leave the room.

But, I bake with milk. I adore cheese.

I even rather like lattes. But if you start talking to me about milk, I might start looking around, afraid that I might throw up on you.

But, I love Nutella. It’s a problem. It is just one of those things I don’t really permit myself to have in my pantry. Bad things happen when I am left alone in the face of a jar of Nutella. Delicious, sweet,  bad things happen again and again until the jar goes away.

So, when I came across a recipe for a Strawberry Nutella Milkshake, I thought I was going to explode. I was already prepared to forgive the shake both for its mention and inclusion of milk.

But, I had saved myself from myself by not having Nutella.

Dilemma.

I couldn’t stop thinking about the milkshake. Then it occurred to me that I had some cookie butter in the pantry. Though I like it fine, this product doesn’t have to fear for its life when I am home alone.

My mouth almost exploded. I loved this milkshake, even though the strawberries I used were pretty cruddy. I will have to make this again.

I will also need to make sure that my son is home when I do. This time, he saved me from overindulgence. I portioned the shakes out into a big portion and a smaller one.

If you want to make sure that you don’t have too much of a sweet treat, portion it out unevenly, and give the bigger portion to a nine-year-old.

Sometimes, your child know’s what’s best for you!
