Run 1000 miles <em>I don&#8217;t know how many miles I ran this year, but I did get back into regular training. I ran a half marathon (well, I was under-trained for that). Currently I am training for a marathon. I am pretty\u00a0 much on track with that. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>2. <s>Learn Samba<em><\/em><\/s>I know some samba now! I danced a samba routine at a showcase at the studio where I&#8217;m taking lessons. The dance no longer scares me. Now I just want to get better.<\/p>\n<p>3. <s>Learn Rumba<\/s> <em>I know a little rumba. By little, I mean tiny, tiny bit. I aspire to learn more.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>4. Finish <em>Fallen<\/em><\/p>\n<p>5. \u00a0Try 25 new salad recipes<\/p>\n<p>6. Learn to swim<\/p>\n<p>7.\u00a0 <s>Fill the black notebook<\/s> <em>Done!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>8.\u00a0 <s>Let hair grow out<\/s> <em>Getting there. It is time, however, for a professional trim.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>9. Submit writing<\/p>\n<p>10. <s>See 10 movies<\/s> <em>I did this and more. Who knew that I would be one to subscribe to Netflix. Everybody changes.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>11. Finish reading a biography of each US President<\/p>\n<p>12. Sew a pair of pants <em>Technically, I did this. I made Alex a pair of pajama pants. What I had in mind, however, was to make a pair of pants that fits me well. I tried this, but disaster ensued.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>13. Have people over more often<\/p>\n<p>14. <s>Get Christmas shopping done early<\/s> <em>I did okay at this one.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>15. Go sledding with Alex <em> I tried to make this happen a number of times, but, well, there is no need to relive all of that<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>16. Make homemade pretzels<\/p>\n<p>17. Make homemade candy<\/p>\n<p>18. Take Alex on Sunday walks (weather permitting)<\/p>\n<p>19. Pick apples<\/p>\n<p>20. Make applesauce<\/p>\n<p>22. Bake a pie with Alex<\/p>\n<p>23. <s> Buy no books for myself for 3 consecutive months<\/s> <em>September 9 &#8211; December 9<\/em><\/p>\n<p>24. <s>Improve fitness<\/s> My cardio fitness is definitely better than it was a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>25. Take a small trip alone<\/p>\n<p>26. <s>Personal<\/s> \u00a0<em>November 2010<\/em><\/p>\n<p>27. Personal<\/p>\n<p>28. Personal<\/p>\n<p>29. <s>Buy no magazines at newsstand prices<\/s> <em>This was perhaps the most difficult of the goals that I actually achieved. It took constant vigilance. I love magazines.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>30. Go see a comedy show<\/p>\n<p>31. Take a session of Studio Cycling <em>Ha! I registered for a class, but it just worked out that I couldn&#8217;t make the sessions. Such is the trouble with doing your workouts at lunch time.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>32. <s>Take more pictures<\/s> <em>I did this off-and-on.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is a list of 32 things that I would like to achieve by my 32nd birthday: 1.
