{"id":2611,"date":"2013-01-25T01:52:12","date_gmt":"2013-01-25T06:52:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sherlonya.net\/resolution\/?p=83"},"modified":"2013-01-25T01:52:12","modified_gmt":"2013-01-25T06:52:12","slug":"january-is-for-habit-building","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sherlonya.net\/blog\/2013\/01\/january-is-for-habit-building\/","title":{"rendered":"January is for habit building"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"fitbit1\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.sherlonya.net\/resolution\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/fitbit1-300x207.gif?resize=450%2C310&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"450\" height=\"310\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So far, I&#8217;ve been using this month to get back into the routine of working out regularly.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been using a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fitbit.com\/\">Fitbit<\/a>\u00a0to keep track of the movement that I&#8217;m doing. One thing that I learned is that I don&#8217;t do jack on Sundays! Seriously. I could could name them Sedentary Sundays. It&#8217;s not good at all.<\/p>\n<p>I used to wear a pedometer to keep track of the steps I was taking. Then it died on me. It was a sad, sad thing. Then, I think I was walking more. I know that the &#8220;best&#8221; day I had was a 20,130-step day. These days, I try to get about 10,000 steps a day, which I am sometimes hitting and sometimes not.<\/p>\n<p>Today was a test of willpower though. I didn&#8217;t want to go exercise because that would mean going outside in the cold. Though I&#8217;m a Michigan native, I&#8217;ve never come to love January-February cold weather. However, I went out there and got myself to the Y. I attribute this to the habit-making that has been going on lately!<\/p>\n<p>As January comes to a close, I am thinking about what February will be about. I think that it&#8217;s time to get strength training back into the mix.
