It is also probably no surprise that I have a dirty little exercise-related secret.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been bribing myself with TV.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s right, I&#8217;ve been going to the Y to enjoy a little TV time. This is what has brought me to the machines instead of the track. This could be dangerous. This week, for example, I was introduced to three shows that I hadn&#8217;t seen before:<em> Hot in Cleveland<\/em>, <em>Scandal<\/em>, and <em>New Girl<\/em>. Hello free pilot episodes. Before that, I was watching <em>Sister Wives<\/em> while using the treadmill. The funny thing is that I don&#8217;t watch all that much TV, generally speaking. I don&#8217;t have a cable subscription, and often glaze over in blankness when someone begins to discuss a recent show.<\/p>\n<p>As if that weren&#8217;t embarrassing enough, I&#8217;ve been using the stairs in my apartment building for exercise&#8230;and making use of my Netflix subscription at the same time. That&#8217;s right; I&#8217;m doing floors while watching TV. Could this be turning me into an average American? Could this weird habit make me normal? Who knows? Only time will tell.
