Thinking about what I like to look at on the internet is one of the things that makes me feel like, “Dearie, time flies. You better put yours to good use.” That feeling, by the way, comes with the voice that I imagine I’ll have if I have the good fortune to live until old age.<\/p>\n

I believe that Not Martha<\/a> is the very first blog that I encountered online. I found it many moons ago when I was trying to figure out how to turn a pair of jeans into a skirt<\/a>. If you’re wondering whether I made the skirt, I did. I also later made marble magnets<\/a> based on the instructions I found there. I also thought about doing something similar to what she did with her red pot<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I’ve been checking in on Erica Mulherin<\/a> for years and years. I find her voice down to earth, and like that she dabbles in a bunch of things. I like her illustrations, particularly her “note to self<\/a>” series.<\/p>\n

I was attracted to LJC<\/a> a while ago because of her many projects<\/a>. Here, I got a recipe for some root beer pulled pork <\/a>which I enjoyed very much. I actually repeated that recipe a few times. I don’t repeat very many recipes more than a few times. It is here, also, where I got the idea to make a felt garland<\/a> for my Christmas tree<\/a>. I constructed mine a little differently than she constructed hers, but each year, I’m glad that I made one.<\/p>\n

I liked to read Erika Barriga back when her blog, Flux Imagery<\/a>, had a different name. One thing that inspires me about her is that she’s out there working on her projects, expanding her skills, stepping out on limbs and letting us see it.<\/p>\n

When I learned to knit, I drooled over the projects that Super Eggplant<\/a> made. That lady knows how to pick a fun fabric, too!<\/p>\n

I read all of these blogs long before I started any of mine. But without them, maybe there would be no Open Letters<\/a>, Head of State Cakes<\/a>, or Just Like a Pear<\/a>. Maybe other upcoming projects wouldn’t be in the pipeline either.  So this is the long way of thanking these folks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
