Food-related challenge

I have been reading various food blogs for several years now. I have more cookbooks than one person should have. Ever. Especially if that person works in a public library where she can have free, easy access to a variety of cookbooks on pretty much any topic she pleases. And that’s before you even think about all of the cooking information and ideas that are available on the web.

But, as everyone knows, just because it shouldn’t be doesn’t mean that it isn’t.

So, to honor my heritage as a food blog lurker (or perhaps to defile my status as a lurker), I decided that I would participate in a challenge. What can I do with the following four ingredients: artichoke, asparagus, tuna, and vodka? And the other question is will it be good? I hope so since this is what I will be eating this evening.

In other cooking news, this morning, since I took the day off from work, I decided to make pancakes, chocolate pancakes. I topped them with maple syrup and berries. Very delicious. AND, I got enough of a chocolate fix that I think I’m set for awhile. These pancakes come from Mark Bittman’s How to Cook Everything Vegetarian. Next time, I think that I would make a sort of syrup out of the berries and skip the maple syrup. Or, I could have used cherry juice concentrate. Or, I could have done something with bananas to make a topping. I think I’ll have to make these again just to see what toppings I could come up with.
