So far, I’ve been using this month to get back into the routine of working out regularly.
I’ve been using a Fitbit to keep track of the movement that I’m doing. One thing that I learned is that I don’t do jack on Sundays! Seriously. I could could name them Sedentary Sundays. It’s not good at all.
I used to wear a pedometer to keep track of the steps I was taking. Then it died on me. It was a sad, sad thing. Then, I think I was walking more. I know that the “best” day I had was a 20,130-step day. These days, I try to get about 10,000 steps a day, which I am sometimes hitting and sometimes not.
Today was a test of willpower though. I didn’t want to go exercise because that would mean going outside in the cold. Though I’m a Michigan native, I’ve never come to love January-February cold weather. However, I went out there and got myself to the Y. I attribute this to the habit-making that has been going on lately!
As January comes to a close, I am thinking about what February will be about. I think that it’s time to get strength training back into the mix. There’s nothing like being sore to make you feel good about the workout you did the day(s) prior.
