It’s all in how you frame it–sort of

So, I am off to a good start with trying to be more active. Friday, I went to the gym just like I said I would and did the things that I had planned. Sunday, I took a super long walk though I felt like being rather cozy with my couch. Today, I went to the Y and spent some quality time with the elliptical machine.

Diet though. That is a difficult one for me. In the past when I have been at a happy weight for myself, it wasn’t really through diet exactly. What I did was got my activity level up and better diet habits came with. When you understand how much energy working out burns, it makes you a bit more careful about how you’re putting energy in.

What makes me feel a little more excited about the prospect of paying more attention to what I’m eating is turning it into a project. I love a good project. So, the goal is for me to take a picture of what I’m eating every day until my birthday and post those here.

I know that taking a picture of what I ate today helped me to pay attention to what I was up to. Even after work when my son and I went out to eat, I didn’t get the pizza that I might normally get. As I know, the little bits add up over time.
