Things get busy sometimes. Right now at this moment I am slowly coming out of an extremely busy period. I use a pedometer daily and found that despite taking lots of steps on a daily basis that I’m losing exactly zero weight.
This comes down to my habits, aka a failure to prepare. I can’t do anything with the past but learn from it, so this week, I wanted to be proactive about planning.
I’m not going to say that I made the healthiest food on the planet because I didn’t. But, I made real food with real ingredients, some of them green. The goal was to make a bunch of food so that I could start the week relaxed, knowing that I had food ready for our lunches, and for dinner. That way, after coming home from work/day camp, my son and I can come home and eat. Eat first and prepare food later.
Sometime when the busies strike, it’s easy to just pick something up. Funny (or not so funny) thing is that I don’t even usually really like the food that I’m picking up somewhere out of desperation. I almost always feel like I could have done better, and that I should have. Additionally, usually there’s food at home that should be eaten in these cases. It’s just not cooked.
None of this says nourishment. Every body needs nourishment. Nourishment will be this week’s theme. What will I do to provide myself what I need to grow, be healthy, and be in good condition?
I’ll start with food.
