There’s something about homemade gravy that just oozes comfort food to me. It makes me think of smashed potatoes. I’m always curious when I come across a recipe for it, especially if it’s vegan.

I am on the canning jar bandwagon. That’s just the way it is. I’m so glad to find a list of lunches that can easily be packed using them.

 Chili is among the categories of food that I love. I love my slow cooker, too, but I don’t use it as much as I could . Maybe I’ll have to break it out to make this slow cooker winter squash chili.

In addition to setting birthday goals, I have recently chosen a word for each year. Some say that a theme is more effective than a New Year’s Resolution. If I hadn’t been considering a word for 2014, I would be now!

I’ve never had a special dish associated with the new year, but I have long been intrigued by them. Maybe I ‘ll make something special this year, like this New Year’s Day Soup.

Chai Honey  Old Fashioned. That is all I have to say about that..

I would love to eat more fish. Maybe I will in the new year. Maybe I will start with salmon with brown sugar and mustard glaze.
